Felixstowe. Suffolk. Bao. Ramen. Bubble tea. And a little cat called Cloud.
Big Bro Bao was not built from a franchise manual or a mood board. It was built from real service, real customers and real lessons learned on the ground — in a seaside town that most national brands haven't heard of. That is exactly why it works. And it is exactly why it can grow.
Big Bro Bao started as a traditional sit-down restaurant. But the economics of running a sit-down service in a seaside town just weren't sustainable. We had to ask hard questions about what Big Bro Bao could be — and we realised the answer was a proper QSR brand. Fast, efficient, quality-focused. Same great food. Different model.
This transition wasn't easy. But it forced us to rebuild properly — systems, training, kitchen flow, brand identity. We stopped asking how to be a better restaurant and started asking how to be a better brand. And that's when Big Bro Bao really took shape.
Felixstowe is not just a pin on a map. It is where the brand was tested, challenged, rebuilt and shaped. We want Big Bro Bao to be something this town can point at and say — that started here. That means something to us. It always will.

At some point, we had to stop asking how to make Big Bro Bao look better and start asking how to make it work better. That meant rebuilding properly — not just a new logo, not just a fresh paint job.
The rebuild was not about becoming less independent. It was about building the structure needed to protect the personality as the brand grows. Systems that protect the chaos. Speed that does not cost flavour. A kitchen that runs the same way whether it is a quiet Tuesday or a packed Saturday night.
An independent food business with real personality, a loyal local following and the bones of something bigger.
Anime-inspired identity, bold typography and a visual world rebuilt from the ground up — not patched over the old one.
A custom loyalty app built as part of the brand experience, not bolted on as an afterthought.
Station sign-offs, timed service, consistent builds — a kitchen designed to run fast without cutting corners.
Proper team training, documented brand standards and operational systems built to scale without losing quality.
Every decision made with one question in mind: will this still feel like Big Bro Bao in 20 locations?

Cloud was part of our team during the hardest transition — when we shifted from sit-down to QSR. He was there through it all, a constant presence and source of warmth when the work felt overwhelming.
Cloud passed away during that transition — lost to cancer. In that grief, we made a decision: immortalise him as the heart of the brand itself.
Every sticker, every piece of packaging, every moment in the app — that's Cloud living on. That's his legacy.
Cloud's Little Legends
Cloud also has his own kids' menu — Bento Box Meals made for little legends. From our fur legend to your little legends.
Most food brands sell meals. Big Bro Bao is building a world. The anime visuals, the purple and neon palette, the characters, Cloud, the missions, the drops, the social content — none of it is decoration. It all builds the same thing: a brand world people can belong to, not just order from.
"The goal is not just to open more shops. The goal is to make sure every future Big Bro Bao still feels like Big Bro Bao."
— The Big Bro Bao Standard
Fast does not mean forgettable. Speed without standards is just noise.
The brand should feel alive from the packaging to the posts. If it looks generic, we have failed.
Structure is not the enemy of independence. It is what keeps the personality intact as you grow.
Felixstowe shaped us. The UK is where we are headed. We are not embarrassed by either of those things.
Rewards, missions, Cloud and drops turn customers into fans — people who are part of something, not just ordering from it.
Cloud approves.
